Can I ride extra Z2 on off/rest days?

With the nicer weather becoming more frequent & it being light out later, it’s tempting to ride more. I’m currently doing 18 weeks of SS and was curious if I can ride Z2 with some tempo or at least Z2 on my off days, probably talking an additional hr or so?


We don’t recommend doing anything more than zone 1 for ~1 hour. This is “active recovery” You can add a bit of zone 2 (about 30 min) to your other days if it will not fatigue you too much.
Rest days are important so that you are recovered well for your key workouts.
