Question regarding Pre-Activity comments in Training Peaks

Good evening,

Hope everyone had a great weekend, just enjoying a relaxing evening and looking forward to 2nd week of my SS program and was reading the pre-activity comments for Tuesday’s SS and Wednesday’s Tempo session and they both have the same comment -

more is better so ride longer in zone 2 if you can and have time AS LONG as it doesn’t affect your recovery and POWER OUTPUT for the workouts downstream

Is this meant for the easy/rest periods between the intervals? Or should I try and ride longer in Z2 after the intervals are completed?

Just looking for some clarification/guidance, thanks.

Cheers,
Gavin

Any extra riding should be done at the end with zone 2 riding. An extra 30 minutes is a good way to get a bit extra TSS without building too much fatigue.

Okay, so if I have time I should try and ride an additional 30mins in Z2 after the workouts, sounds easy enough. Thanks.

Cheers,
Gavin

Unfortunately, Training Peaks will turn yellow for the overage. It is a hard blow for us type A people to see, so just focus on the TSS boost… haha

Just watched Jakes latest vid, so keep riding even though workout is over to keep it & upload it all as one file

Yes,you can also alter the Planned Duration to match your time in the saddle and voilà! It goes green.
