Sick 2 weeks out from Gravel race

I’m doing the Gravel plan. Just getting over major head cold and as a result missed my 5 hour simulation ride. Question is how to approach the remaining two weeks leading up to the event. Good side is I’m well rested, bad side is lost opportunity for meaningful adaptation. Next weekend would call for a shorter simulation ride (3 hours). Would I benefit from doing the long version (5 hours) or is it basically too late?


I would do the longer version. You won’t need as much rest. 7 days leaves you plenty of time to recover from ride to race. But also remember don’t over do so as you won’t adapt and will only fatigue yourself. So have a good rest/taper week into the event.
