On January 1st, I will be starting the 24 week off season Cx plan. I live in Utah and there are two 5 hour mtb races in Southern Utah in April. The races are 2 weeks apart. I’m considering using these as training rides. No significant taper. I don’t really care how I do. Should make for some good tss. Any thoughts or guidance? Is this unwise?
That should work good. Should be during your sweet spot group ride phase, so they fit in nicely. You will just want to make sure you get proper rest after them as too not build up too much fatigue and so you can continue the plan without totally derailing it. A 5 hour mountain bike race is hard, but it’s not over the top so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
