Indoor vs. outdoor power

Finally got a power meter on the bike and it seems a fair amount easier to make power on the road vs. inside on the trainer. I have an ftp test scheduled in 2 weeks but until then should I consider my currently established zones close enough? Thanks in advance!

Yes indoor power is usually about 5% lower when compared to outdoor power. Everyone is a little different but most do have a different FTP indoors when compared to outdoors. We don’t give athletes two FTP’s but indoors you maybe at the lower end of your zone as opposed to middle or upper end.

Let your heart rate and perceived exertion be your guide as well as power in these first 2 weeks before you do an actual FTP test. You should be in the ballpark.
