Base-> Race (it’s almost that time for spring races)

I have an A race coming up on Saturday April 25th, I’m currently rocking through the 18 week SS advanced plan. I planned to give myself a few extra weeks of time in case I had training obstacles. I’m going to take a rest week and start my 6 week interval plan.

How many weeks out from the A race should I start the 6 week interval plan? Watching the video, it looks like 1-2 weeks. If the 6 week plan ends on a Sunday, is having the A race that next Saturday ideal?
