Hey there! Apologies if this question has already been answered, but I have my first field test tomorrow (riding with HR, not power since I don’t have a power meter). That being said, it’ll take about 8 miles of riding to get to the stretch of road I’ll be tackling. Is it best that I rest before I conduct the test, if so what should I aim to have my HR at prior to going all out for 20 mins?

8 miles - sounds like a good warm up. Ride over there easy, zone 2, low heart rates.
