In addition to sleep, massage, hydration, and nutrition, what are your thoughts on the use of CBD for recovery? Anything to look for or avoid when looking at products? Any you recommend, if you think it is a good idea?
Hey @tuppd! I think it is based on personal experience and if you feel benefits after using it.
I have not noticed a lot of the “benefits” that manufacturers and athletes say it has (e.g. less pain, reducing inflammation etc.). I DO however find that it helps with my sleep more than anything else I have tried… and we all know sleep is crucial for optimal recovery! So personally I use it frequently, especially after hard rides when my adrenaline is high and I find it hard to fall a sleep.
As far as what to look for, you want to make sure it is full spectrum, organic and third party tested. My personal favorite is Seven Points CBD. Great company and great products. Their body repair balm is also incredible!
As for CBD flowers or oil its the best solution in your case.
When do you use it and what do you recommend?
@drlibasci I use it after hard workouts (typically weekends) or 2 a days.
I use the 600 mg tincture and use 8-10 drops which is about 10-12mg about an hour before bed.
CBD, or cannabidiol, has gained a lot of attention in recent years for its potential health benefits. While research is still ongoing, some studies suggest that CBD may have anti-inflammatory properties and could help with pain relief and anxiety.
When looking for CBD products for recovery, it’s important to do your research and choose a reputable brand. Look for products that have been tested by a third-party laboratory and have a certificate of analysis available. This will help ensure that the product is free of contaminants and accurately labeled in terms of CBD content.
It’s also a good idea to start with a lower dosage and gradually increase as needed. Everyone’s body is different, so the right dosage for you may vary. If you’re currently taking any medications, it’s important to talk to your doctor before starting CBD, as it may interact with certain medications.
