Hey there, I am the odd triathlete who thinks he’s a cyclist until the other guys in the bike shop make fun of me and call me a runner. I mean, I am a pretty good runner by most accounts, but my strength is definitely on the bike, especially on hilly courses. I started being an athlete almost 5 years ago to not get anymore fat working a desk job, things got out of hand, one thing led to another and now I have a couple 70.3 distance tris under my belt shooting for my first 140.6 in Madison (IRONMAN Wisconsin 2020). I have a strong case of “big fish, small pond syndrome” which means that I can just show up and win age group awards in small races and then get smoked in the big city.
