I’ve recently started road cycling within the past 4 months. I’m a heavier rider at 270# and working my way down slowly. What I frequently run into when riding anything over 20 miles I seem to hit a wall with my legs. I’m trying to figure what I can do to help with extending my rides to be more enjoyable for longer rides. I’ve started to eat better, but it’s still not consistent.
Would like to know if there’s a plan out there for me to help with my riding.
I would recommend our 18 week sweet spot base plan. This is a great plan to build up a big aerobic engine that will help you ride farther. You need to improve on your aerobic engine and sweet spot training is the best way to do that. For you I would make sure you start off with our basic plan.
We also have meal plans that can help you make the right choices and give you great recipe ideas if that is something you would be interested in.
If you have any questions about either just let us know! And be on the look out for our Holiday sale coming out soon! Like real soon.
Hey @dmart1627 - you do not need a power meter, but ideally would need a heart rate monitor. If you do not have that you can go off of perceived exertion, but that can be hard to gauge correctly.
