Weeks Leading into Training Plan

Hi, I just purchased a gravel grinder training plan and one of the first things I saw was to built up the fitness score on Training peaks as high as possible through sweet spot training prior to the plan. In terms of fatigue and form on Training Peaks, are there specific numbers that you would recommend staying under/over prior to starting the training plan?

Thanks

It is really hard to say. A lot of it depends on training time and the ability to recover.

Here is a rough idea of CTL you should be looking for.

Coach @Jake is absolutely right - it depends on what you’ve been doing the past 6, 12, 18, 24+ weeks and also super important: when your goal event is? In 6 weeks or next year?

Thanks Jake and Frank,

Frank, my training plan starts in 2 weeks and my race is at the end of the 6 week training plan.

Jake, that chart is nice for a baseline. Are the “40+”, “50+”, and “60+” age groups?

Thanks

Yes those are age groups.
