Understanding “form”

Starting my first structured training plan. My question regarding training peaks, why does form change the day after training? CTL changes after the ride is uploaded. Love your podcast. Thank you.

Form in TrainingPeaks is also know as Training Stress Balance (TSB) which is basically you fatigue. What it does is take your fitness (CTL), average TSS over last 42 days, compared to your Fatigue (ATL), which is average TSS the last 7 days, and gives your form. So it won’t effect that day but the following day after a workout.

Here’s the ‘math’ so your form is represented (like Coach Jake Said) the day after the training does or does not occur:
