Training vs. Racing

I have always relied on training races to get the most out of my riding (i.e., get as fast as possible for a specific event). With the lack of available racing I was wondering, is it possible to get as fast just performing intervals and group rides as it would be using training races?

Oh absolutley @ryanhermsmeyer - its just a different style of training that requires different motivation.

Extrinsically motivated athletes find intervals harder than racing while intrinsically motivated athletes find intervals more productive.

This all goes back to #FtFP’ing and making the watts, going as hard as you can which is all tied back to motivation. Remember what you are training for and Cry in the DoJo to Laugh on the Battlefield.
