In the notes for SweetSpot or Tempo training days, it says "add in more Zone2 if you have the time and it doesnt impact later workouts”. Does this mean do more Z2 before and after the intervals ?
You should only add in zone 2 time after the work has been done. This way you are hitting your power and the intervals are not effected.
The only time you would want to do more zone 2 time before intervals if you are working on race specific intervals in that being able to produce a race winning move with the added fatigue like you would come race day. But most intervals we want you to be ‘fresher’ for so you can hit your targets.
