General question. I am looking to organise my taper for a Gran Fondo on 7th July. Basically decided on a two week taper as a 50+ masters and building CTL as much as possible in a three week block before. Question I can’t find is, should I plan a recovery week before the taper or use the first week of the taper as a recovery week
A recovery week is basically a taper week. Similar in that you drop duration but keep a bit of intensity to keep from going flat. If you do 3 weeks on the 4th week needs to be a regeneration week. The following week can be a taper week including a day off two days out and openers the day before.
