Building in Vacations

Thoughts/strategy for planning family vacations (e.g. 5-7 days off the bike) within training plans?

If it were up to me, i would FTFP year round, but my family has other plans for me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

From a training plan and performance perspective, that is a broader topic. I.e. the impact the vacation will have on your short term training and racing. If you don’t have nay racing coming up, you are fine. But if you do you may want to reset your goals for that race from a “B” to a “C” race, for example. Certainly there’s no vacations within 6 weeks of an A race.

At the 10,000 ft big picture view it will come down to your CTL: it’ll go down during your vacation and post vaca you probably want to sweet spot to raise your CTL back up and hopefully beyond.
