Beginner Swim Question - Pulling?

Quick beginner question - in the multisport swim training sessions, what does Pull refer to?
Just using a pull buoy or pull buoy + paddles?

“Pull” refers to using a pull buoy unless otherwise stated (there are some no buoy pulling efforts too!). If you have paddles and are comfortable using them, use those too! Some paddles are more for form correction, others are more for resistance training, make sure you’re not blowing out your shoulders if you use paddles.
