Base training for winter

Good evening
Just a quick question when is the best to start the base training?
Also , I’m living many miles away from a gym and is not realistic for me. What weight training can I do home? Is any suitable plan for it ?

The best time depends on when your A race is. Ideally you want to start ~36 weeks prior so you can complete the 30 week off season plan + a race specific plan.

If you are weight training at home, you could do our at home weight lifting plan. That will require you to have a squat rack, but Frank has posted a DIY rack here in the forum.
